NBC 5, Telemundo 39 and Hey Chica! invite you to the fourth annual Hey Chica! Power to the Chica Advocacy Brunch on Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Winsome Prime in Dallas. Power to the Chica is a high-energy, nonpartisan gathering designed to bring women together for brunch, community, education, connection and action.

The experience brings together women from across North Texas to have meaningful conversations about the issues affecting our communities. Power to the Chica is not about telling women who to vote for or what to believe. Instead, the goal is to create a welcoming space where women can become more informed, connect with community organizations and discover practical ways to become more engaged in the issues that matter to them.

This year’s experience will feature the Hey Chica Headlines opening conversation, networking, community activations and interactive breakout sessions known as Community Action Labs. Guests will choose two conversations centered around:

Voting Rights & Civic Engagement – exploring the importance of civic participation, staying informed and using your voice in your community.

Entrepreneurship & Business – discussing how women can support Latina entrepreneurs through customers, capital, contracts, mentorship, visibility and connections.

Civic Leadership – exploring pathways for women to serve through nonprofit and corporate boards, civic commissions, neighborhood organizations, community leadership and other opportunities to take a seat at the table.

At the heart of Power to the Chica is the No Mean Girl Movement and its advocacy pillar: “Don’t be mean to your community.” That means showing up, staying informed, supporting one another and recognizing that advocacy can take many forms.

You may not agree with every woman in the room on every issue – and that is okay. The intention is to create space for women to listen, learn, connect and recognize that their voices and experiences matter.

Brunch will be served, and attendees will also have the opportunity to receive a Latina Voter shirt while supplies last.
