Hardin County — The driver of a mail truck has died following a collision in Hardin County, according to information the Texas Department of Public Safety provided to KFDM News.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at about 4:30 p.m., the driver of a United States Postal Service mail truck was traveling west on S.H. 327 and reportedly disregarded the stop sign at the U.S. 69 intersection, between Lumberton and Kountze, and pulled into the path of a 2003 Ford F-350 towing a lowboy trailer that was traveling north and was struck on its driver side.
The driver of the mail truck was transported to CRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital where the driver died. Their information is not immediately available pending notification of their next of kin.
The driver of the Ford and three passengers, including a 13-year-old child, were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
