LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A woman is seriously injured after a crash involving an electric scooter and an SUV in south Lubbock Tuesday night.
Just after 7:30 p.m., police responded to the crash near the intersection of 98th and Avenue U.
Upon arrival, officers found 23-year-old Tara Frits with serious injuries and was taken to UMC. The driver of the SUV, 36-year-old Ty Perez, and his passenger, 25-year-old Zacharia Tijerina, were not injured.
Investigators say it appears Perez was traveling west towards 98th Street as Fritz was approaching the intersection of Avenue U when the vehicles collided.
