The local TV news landscape in Dallas-Fort Worth has seen some faces come and go in recent months.

Here’s a look at what you may have missed across four major local channels:

CBS News Texas

“I’m going to end my career as a meteorologist. I did that for 40 years,” Ray said. “Now I’m going to start my career as a farmer, just like my grandfather, who worked as a truck farmer outside of Youngstown, Ohio, and I’m going to work a truck farm out of Pikeville, Tennessee.”

Fox 4

Fox 4 reporter Payton May called it quits last month after two years on the station’s morning newscast Good Day.

“From the moment I crossed the Red River two years ago, I knew this place would be special,” she wrote on social media. “To the incredible FOX4 viewers, you’ve brought smiles after the darkest of days and confidence after some of the most difficult ones. Thank you for trusting me with your stories & making Texas home.”

May has not yet announced where she is going next.

NBC 5

Another longtime meteorologist to depart this summer, Samantha Davies left NBC 5 the week of June 30. She had been at the station since 2009.

“This isn’t goodbye, just the end of this chapter,” she wrote on social media.

In a recent social media post, Davies revealed she is now a meteorologist at Perry Weather, a Dallas-based weather safety company.

The station also added Juan Carlos Chaoui as a reporter trainee in June. The Miami-raised reporter is a May graduate of the University of Florida and previously worked at WUFT News, a PBS/NPR affiliate in the Sunshine State.

Meteorologist Ryann Jones took on a new role at NBC 5 this summer, becoming the new morning traffic and weather anchor for NBC 5 Today. She had been at the station since July 2024 as a meteorologist associate.

“New job title, same tv station, MUCH earlier alarm clock,” she wrote on social media.

The station’s education reporter Wayne Carter was also announced as anchor of new show NBC 5 NOW at 3,  in an expanded local news offering for the network.

Carter is best known for his “Carter in the Classroom” series, which airs on the 4 p.m. newscast.

WFAA

WFAA general assignment reporter Tiffany Liou left the station in July after more than eight years in D-FW. Liou moved back to her home state of California and is now at ABC 7 in the Bay Area.

Also in July, the station added reporter Erin Heft. The Lubbock native made the opposite move to Liou, trading the Golden State for a homecoming to the Lone Star State. She arrived in D-FW for what she called a “dream position” in a June social media post after five years in Sacramento, Calif.
