The Billy Bob Thornton-led series is not just shooting on campus, though. Nearly 30 students are shadowing the production crew as it shoots scenes.

“The experience gives these students a unique and up-close look at what goes into a major television production and how each unit contributes to the artistry of the overall production,” TCU professor of film, television and digital media Tricia Jenkins said in the release.

Additionally, around 30 TCU cheerleaders are playing roles tied to the character of Ainsley Norris, played by Michelle Randolph, who set off to join TCU’s cheerleading team during Season 2 of the show.

This marks the third season in a row that Landman has shot scenes at TCU, each time with students having a chance to shadow the production. The university went so far as to present series creator Sheridan with an honorary degree last year.

The shoot at TCU comes shortly after the production put out a casting call looking for background actors to play college students for the third season of the show.
