Film is a popular art form, spanning across years of history. The event helps students get their feet wet with creating films and presenting them to audiences, EXCEL programming director Maritza Perez said.

“We wanted to give a space for our Mavericks to showcase their creativity and express themselves through the form of film,” Perez said.

The Cinematic Arts Mavericks, a campus film club, will also attend as judges and have their own table at the event.

There will be snacks, candies and drinks available at the event.

Students who have submitted short films will get a chance to not only see their films on a big screen but also win one of three categories, each with different prizes.
