HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is underway after a man was found dead near Crosby Freeway in northeast Harris County on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched at about 1 p.m. to the 13000 block of Crosby Freeway in reference to a man lying in the grassy area near the roadway.
Officials said South Lake EMS responded to the scene and determined that the man was dead.
HCSO said its vehicular crimes division responded to investigate the incident as a possible crash. Initial information indicates that the man was hit by a vehicle several hours before he was found, officials said, adding that he then landed in the grassy area and was discovered by landscape workers.
Investigators said the man’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.
Officials said there is no vehicle description at this time and that the man is still unidentified.
HCSO said the investigation remains ongoing.
