Drier Air Moves In:
Drier air is moving into Houston, bringing a welcome break from the humidity this week. With lower moisture levels, afternoons should feel noticeably more comfortable, with cooler mornings and less of that sticky Gulf Coast feel. Moisture could make a comeback though this weekend into next week.

Tracking the tropics:
The latest update from the NHC has Hurricane Isaias in the southern Gulf. Models generally pull it away from the Texas coast, so nothing to worry about for now, but we’ll keep our eyes on it.
Hurricane Isaias has formed.
So far this hurricane season we’ve had nine tropical storms. We have not had a hurricane in the Atlantic basin. The latest first hurricane to form was Gustav and Humberto, which formed on September 11th. This means our 2026 hurricane season set a record for the latest hurricane to form. Isaias is likely to become a hurricane and a VERY late in the season one for the Gulf Coast.

Drier air and warm temps return this week, but it will feel nicer! Sunny skies will take over most of this week, cool-ish mornings, less humid and still warm and dry in the afternoons.
