MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A fatal crash involving a big rig forced several lanes to close on the North Freeway in The Woodlands on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
According to Houston TranStar, the crash involving a heavy truck shut down the right shoulder and three lanes of northbound I-45. TranStar showed the crash was cleared hours later.
The Conroe Police Department confirmed the crash killed one person, but did not provide further details. Authorities did not immediately identify the cause of the crash, how the victim died, or their identity.
TranStar cameras showed traffic backing up as the afternoon commute was underway.
