Peer Observation of Teaching Training, led by Peggy Semingson and Beth Fleener, is a hands-on workshop that prepares UTA faculty to conduct meaningful, constructive peer observations aligned with university policy and evidence-based teaching practices. Grounded in HOP guidance, the training walks participants through the full peer-observation cycle—pre-observation consultation, data-focused observation strategies for face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses, and effective post-observation feedback that supports continuous improvement. Through brief pre-work and active participation, faculty develop the skills and confidence to serve as certified peer observers and contribute to a culture of collegiality and teaching excellence. The session includes AI-supported role-play using LinkedIn Learning’s AI Role Play tool, with alternative options via Microsoft Copilot or peer-to-peer activities to ensure all participants can practice feedback and coaching skills.
