Sahil Jilani was last located Wednesday at the Abram Falls Trailhead in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, according to a Facebook post from the park service. The 24-year-old was last seen at the Riverstone Campground in Townsend, Tenn., on Oct.5 around 8 p.m.

Jilani is described as a 5’9″, 140-pound male with black hair and brown eyes from Texas.

“Have you seen this person?” the park service wrote. “If you have any information or believe you have seen Jilani, please contact the park: SmokiesTips@nps.gov”

By Thursday afternoon, the post had more than 1,300 likes and 770 shares, with many commenters expressing hope that Jilani would be found safe.

“It’s so easy to get lost in the forest if you get off the trail,” one person wrote. “Hoping for his safe return.”

“Please let this young man be found safe,” wrote another.

The Abram Falls trailhead leads to a five-mile roundtrip hike through rhododendron, hemlock and pine-oak forest, according to the National Park Service website. The trail leads to a 25-foot waterfall flowing over a ledge of sandstone into a deep pool.

Riverstone Campground is located at 8277 E Lamar Alexander Pkwy in Townsend, Tenn., about a 15-mile drive from the Abram Falls trailhead, according to Google Maps.

Anyone with information on Jilani’s disappearance is asked to contact the National Park Service.
