TGIF!
It’s finally starting to feel like fall — the air is fresh and triple digits are no longer haunting the city. And with October approaching its midpoint, the haunting of the Halloween festivities is starting.
This weather is perfect for pumpkin patch strolling, and Howell Family Farms on Division Street isn’t offering your ordinary patch with Pumpkin Nights. Experience larger-than-life pumpkin structures, pumpkin sculptures and 10,000 hand-carved pumpkins. There will also be fire shows, games and seasonal bites.
In the Entertainment District, the Melting Pot Festival is making a stop at Globe Life Field North Plaza, with over 200+ small vendors booths, a fair-style food fest and interactive games.
If you’re looking for a thrill, The Chosen One Ink is transforming its property into a haunted house. Kids get free admission while adult entry is free with a canned food donation. All proceeds go to Mission Arlington for families in need. The shop is also offering Halloween discounts on tattoos and piercings.
If you’re not looking to prowl throughout the night, the Downtown Arlington Doggie Depot has returned for a Howl-o-ween themed “Canines & Coffee” event Saturday morning. Dress up your pup and stop by for free coffee and beverages, goodies, pet-focused local vendors and mingling with fellow pet lovers. If you see a black dog in a T-Rex costume holding a pumpkin, you’ll know it’s me!
There will also be a monster mash Friday night in the Entertainment District. Head to Texas Live! for its Monster Mash Salsa Party with lessons from Alejandro Acevedo and music by DJ Colombiano. Of course, Halloween costumes are encouraged. It’ll be a graveyard smash!
Whatever you decide to do, let us know what you’re up to. Have a great weekend, and see you next week!
