SAN ANTONIO — Weekend construction on the I-35 Northeast Expansion Project will trigger road and ramp closures along I-35 near Eisenhauer and Walzem roads starting Saturday.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the closures are scheduled as follows:

Saturday, Oct. 10 (9 a.m. – midnight): Both directions of Eisenhauer Road at I-35 will be closed. Eastbound traffic will detour via the Rittiman Road U-turn, while westbound drivers will detour using the Walzem Road U-turn.

Sunday, Oct. 11 (9 a.m.) – Monday, Oct. 12 (5 a.m.): The northbound I-35 frontage road between Eisenhauer and Walzem roads, along with the northbound entrance ramp south of Walzem, will be closed. Northbound frontage traffic will detour via Ray Bon Drive to Walzem Road.

Drivers heading to northbound I-35 from Eisenhauer Road on Sunday should use the Rittiman Road U-turn to reach the ramp south of Eisenhauer. All work is weather permitting, and TxDOT advises motorists to expect delays and follow posted detour signs.
