The eastbound and westbound I-10 main lanes will close between FM 464 and SH 46 from 9 p.m. Friday, October 9, through 5 a.m. Monday, October 12, according to the City of Seguin.

The closure will affect both directions of I-10 just east of Seguin. Drivers should allow extra time for their trips and follow posted detours.

Westbound I-10 traffic will exit at FM 464 and continue along the westbound frontage road before using the entrance ramp to re-enter I-10.

Eastbound traffic will exit at FM 464, turn right onto FM 464 and continue to U.S. 90. Drivers will turn left onto U.S. 90 and continue to SH 46, then turn left onto SH 46 and continue to the eastbound I-10 frontage road. Drivers will turn right and use the entrance ramp to re-enter I-10.

Motorists should expect delays and use caution while traveling through the work zone, city officials said.

The road work comes as a major I-10 widening project continues in Guadalupe County.

The Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor, Webber LLC of New Braunfels, is working on a $245.2 million project between FM 464 and SH 130.

The project will widen the existing four-lane main lanes to six lanes, improve entrance and exit ramps, rehabilitate structures and convert portions of the frontage roads to one-way traffic. Resurfacing is also planned between SH 123 and SH 130.

The project is expected to be completed in fall 2029.
