A man was killed and several other people were taken to the hospital after a four-vehicle crash Thursday night in southwest Houston, according to police.
The crash happened around 10:10 p.m. Oct. 8 at the intersection of Westheimer Road and Hillcroft Avenue.
According to preliminary information, a 911 call came in about a vehicle traveling westbound on Westheimer Road at a high rate of speed. The vehicle collided with multiple vehicles before hitting a utility pole.
The driver died inside the vehicle.
Other occupants involved in the crash were transported to a nearby hospital. One person was reported to be in critical condition, while the others were listed as stable.
Police have not released additional information about the drivers involved, including their driving or criminal histories.
The crash remains under investigation.
