A fatal car crash on Friday has shut down all southbound lanes of the East Freeway near Clinton Drive in east Houston.

TranStar reported two vehicles collided around 1:46 p.m., causing all the mainlanes, left shoulder and right shoulder to be closed. All southbound traffic is being redirected onto the feeder road.

The Texas Department of Transportation said in a social media post that it’s unclear when the lanes will reopen.

Commuters can instead take I-10 to Highway 90 to reach I-45, or take I-10 to the Beltway.
