EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A new festival celebrating the history, culture and communities along El Paso’s historic Mission Trail is set for Saturday, Oct. 10.
Destination El Paso and El Paso County announced the inaugural Mission Trail Music Festival, a daylong event spanning the nine-mile corridor through the Mission Valley.
The festival will feature music, local vendors, family-friendly activities and cultural programming.
Events will be held at the Ysleta Mission, Socorro Mission, San Elizario Presidio Chapel, Mission Trail Visitor Center, Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Cultural Center and Licon Dairy.
Organizers said each site will offer its own entertainment and activities, encouraging attendees to explore the trail and surrounding communities.

The Historic El Paso Mission Trail has been a place where culture, music, and traditions have connected generations for centuries,” El Paso County Precinct 3 Commissioner Iliana Holguin said in a statement. “The Mission Trail Music Festival brings that living history to life by inviting the El Paso community and visitors to experience, celebrate, and share the rich cultural heritage of Ysleta, Socorro, and San Elizario.
The Mission Trail links three historic landmarks — Ysleta Mission, Socorro Mission and San Elizario Presidio Chapel — and reflects centuries of Borderland history.
Organizers said the festival also aims to bring visitors to local restaurants, shops, galleries, historic sites and other businesses along the corridor.
“The Mission Trail tells an important part of El Paso’s story, and this festival gives us an opportunity to share that story in an engaging and welcoming way,” Visit El Paso Executive Director Veronica Castro said. “We want people to enjoy the performances and activities, but we also want them to explore beyond the festival programming.”
