The jury sentenced Vasquez to 25 years in prison after the trial in the 437th District Court.

Road rage should never end in the loss of a life,” said Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Joe Gonzales. “This verdict holds the defendant accountable for a violent act that took a husband and father from his family. We hope this outcome brings some measure of justice to Morales’ loved ones as they continue to navigate this devastating loss.

Prosecutors said Vasquez followed Morales into his neighborhood after the road rage encounter in January 2025. Morales got out of his vehicle and opened the trunk, where he had a firearm, when Vasquez fired several shots, striking and killing him.
