“Landman,” one of Taylor Sheridan’s most popular new productions, is once again filming on TCU’s campus.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Taylor Sheridan is back in Fort Worth filming for season three of his extremely popular show, “Landman,” and its most recent stop is on TCU’s campus.

“Landman,” the Paramount+ series, will film on the TCU campus during the month of October, TCU said in a press release. The Fort Worth-centric show is about West Texas oilfields, but it’s mostly filmed in North Texas, as WFAA has previously covered in depth. Fans are anticipating the release of season three after season two wrapped up last winter.

Several heavy hitters have roles in the show, including Billy Bob Thornton, John Hamm, and Demi Moore. The scenes filmed at TCU, however, will mostly center around the storyline of Ainsley Norris, played by Michelle Randolph, who in season two started college there and joined the cheerleading team.

To that end, close to 30 TCU cheerleaders will participate in the production, according to the school. TCU was an extensive background in season two of the series, including when Ali Larter and Michelle Randolph (playing the roles of Angela and Aynsley Norris) toured the campus.

TCU touted the participation of students in the production, saying nearly 30 students from the Bob Schieffer College of Communication will shadow the production crew to see how a major scripted series operates.

“It is the kind of access that film students usually have to travel to Los Angeles or New York to find,” the school said.

During season two, Sheridan brought on students as extras and production assistants, the release states. In 2025, Sheridan recieved an honorary degree from the University.

“’Landman’ has shot on TCU’s campus during each of their three seasons,” said Tricia Jenkins, professor of film, television and digital media in TCU’s Bob Schieffer College of Communication. “Each season, they have invited our students in film, television and digital media to shadow their production units for half of the day. The experience gives these students a unique and up-close look at what goes into a major television production and how each unit contributes to the artistry of the overall production.”

It’s not clear when season three will premiere. It’s also not clear where the show will film next; it’s historically used backdrops from across Dallas and Tarrant Counties, including (but not limited to) Sundance Square, the Petroleum Club, Cattlemans Steakhouse, and Hotel Drover.
