BCSO: 2 arrested in $30,000 construction theft investigation

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men accused of stealing more than $30,000 worth of property from new construction sites on the county’s south side.

Deputies arrested Pedro Damian Jeronimo Martinez, 23, and Melvin Jonatan Acosta Martinez, 39, on Oct. 7, 2026, following an investigation that used advanced technology and partnerships with security companies to identify a vehicle connected to the thefts.

Authorities located the vehicle and executed an active search warrant. Both men, who were at the scene, admitted to having connections to the stolen construction property, according to the sheriff’s office.

Pedro Damian Jeronimo Martinez was charged with theft of property valued at $750 to less than $2,500. Melvin Jonatan Acosta Martinez was charged with theft of property valued at $30,000 to less than $150,000.
