HOUSTON — The Harris County Joint Processing Center in downtown Houston is on lockdown Saturday night as authorities investigate a threat made against the facility, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The facility is located at 700 N. San Jacinto St.
The sheriff’s office confirmed the lockdown but did not provide details about the nature of the threat or how it was communicated.
It is unclear how long the lockdown will remain in effect or whether operations at the facility have been affected.
The Joint Processing Center is a shared operation between Harris County and the City of Houston that processes people who have been arrested and are entering the jail system.
