HOUSTON – A man was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head Saturday night, and another man matching the suspected shooter’s description was later detained after being found with a gunshot wound to the foot, Houston police said.
Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 10 to the 5300 block of Harrisburg Boulevard, where they found the victim. He was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival.
As officers interviewed witnesses, they received a description of the suspect. About a mile east of the original scene, tactical officers responded to another shooting call and found a man with a gunshot wound to the foot who matched that description, police said.
The man was detained and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police said the incident began with a verbal altercation over why the suspect was at the location despite not being a resident there. The argument escalated into a physical fight before a gunshot was heard and the victim fell.
The investigation is ongoing. Police have not provided additional details about potential charges.
