Red Raiders head to Chicago for Illini Invitational

  • October 12, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Texas Tech women’s golf continues its fall season with a trip to Medinah Country Club for the Illini Women’s Invitational, nearly three weeks after winning the Red Raider Invitational.

The tournament, hosted by Illinois, runs Oct. 12-13 at Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 2, a par-72 layout measuring 6,166 yards in Medinah, Illinois. The event is 54-hole stroke play with a 5-count-4 format, split into 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday.

Texas Tech’s lineup includes Tarini Bhoga, Maja Ambroziak, Cameron Freund, Klara Hurtova and Parat Sukanant, with Angel Yin playing as an individual.

Fifteen teams are competing: Charleston, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Ole Miss, Rice, TCU, Texas Tech, UC Irvine, UCF and Wisconsin.

A practice round is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11. The first and second rounds, totaling 36 holes, begin Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT and continuous play. The final round of 18 holes begins Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT.

Texas Tech’s roster includes nine players: four returners from the 2025-26 team that advanced to the NCAA Championships and five newcomers.

The four returners are seniors Maja Ambroziak of Poland, Cameron Freund of Maryland and Klara Hurtova of Czechia, who all competed at the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, California, last May, along with junior Emily Lee of California, who continues recovering from a season-ending injury suffered last spring.

Tarini Bhoga of Texas joins the team for her junior season after competing at UT Arlington during her first two collegiate seasons. The four remaining newcomers are freshmen Constance Detroye of France, Roisin Scanlon of England and the Bahamas, Parat Sukanant of Thailand and Angel Yin of Hong Kong.

Texas Tech made its fifth all-time NCAA Championship appearance last season, with prior appearances in 1996, 2015, 2017 and 2023. The program is looking to reach the NCAA Championships in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history.

Head coach JoJo Robertson enters her 17th season at Texas Tech in 2026-27. She has guided the Red Raiders to four of the program’s five NCAA Championship appearances.

Texas Tech’s fall season concludes Oct. 19-21 at The Fin in Fairfield, Texas, at Freestone Golf Club. The spring season opens Feb. 1-3 at the Paradise Invitational in Boca Raton, Florida, at Osprey Point Golf Course.
