It can become overwhelming when looking for a new school. As you begin your search, keep these key questions in mind:

Does the school prepare students – not just for college, but for life? I think most can agree that preparation is key to success. And, yes, grades and assessments count, but preparation is bigger than just test scores or the right college, and often students leave school feeling underprepared for what’s next. When touring, it should be obvious how a school equips students with not only the knowledge, but the skills and mindsets needed to navigate life’s challenges and accomplish goals.

Does the school leave room for discovering a passion? Passion is fuel for a joyful life. The school you choose should help students uncover what excites and inspires them, so they feel alive and fulfilled, and not overburdened. Finding what sparks students gives meaning and direction in their academic and daily lives.

Does the school care about your child becoming a principled, good person? In a world that desperately needs goodness, the people leading your child should strive to model honor as they foster wisdom and help cultivate a heart of service. It’s great to see that our children can get a good education and learn to make a positive difference – and all from the same place!

To learn how these things come to life for students (PreK 3 – 12th grade), Parish Episcopal School invites your family to a campus preview (Nov. 15) or a tour (various dates available).
