A new dining destination is taking shape just a short drive from Southlake, bringing burgers, tacos, and plenty of room to play.

MAD Concepts Group is preparing to open a restaurant park featuring Jakes Burgers and Carrollton-based newcomer Tacos & Avocados at 5301 Davis Blvd., Suite 100, at the northwest corner of Davis Boulevard and Lola Drive in North Richland Hills, according to the city. Jakes Burgers is slated to open in mid- to late October, with Tacos & Avocados expected to follow in the weeks afterward.

The two full-service restaurants will feature bars and patios, with approximately 10,000 square feet of indoor dining space combined.

Founded in East Dallas in 1985, Jakes has expanded beyond its classic burgers and hand-cut fries to offer chicken sandwiches, wings, quesadillas, nachos, and more. Tacos & Avocados brings a self-described Mex-Tex twist to the table with options such as quesobirria, barbacoa, Shiner-braised brisket tacos, fajitas, enchiladas, and protein bowls. Margaritas and other cocktails round out the menu.

Another draw is the outdoor space between the two restaurants. Dubbed The Backyard, the gathering area is designed to feature open green space, lawn games, community events and family activities. Think post-game celebrations, birthday get-togethers, and a place for kids to play while grown-ups relax over a meal.

For Southlake-area families looking for a casual outing nearby, this new North Richland Hills destination offers a little something for everyone.
