EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A special gala in El Paso on Oct. 17 will raise money for a local nonprofit and help fund a cultural dance team’s goal of staging its own showcase.
Iliana Villalpando, founder of Diora Couture and director of the Pass the Dream Foundation, said the event will also mark the fashion house’s three-year anniversary.
Villalpando said Pass the Dream Foundation has been helping the community for the past four years.
El Paso “Through the Ages” gala set for Oct. 17 to raise funds for local nonprofit
The formal gala, called “Through the Ages,” encourages attendees to dress in their favorite era, with Villalpando suggesting anything from “their favorite 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s outfit.”
A cultural dance team in El Paso that performs traditional dances from across Mexico will be the main performers of the night. Villalpando said 25% of the money raised will go to We Are Meteora as the group raises funds to rent a theater for its own showcase in El Paso.
“We have a goal of $10,000 that we are looking into meeting because unfortunately, you know, theaters are very expensive in the city,” Villalpando said.
Villalpando said tickets are still available and include dinner, gifts and raffles. She also said the gala will include a fashion component showcasing five collections planned to be seen in 2027 in New York City, Paris and London.
