LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock High Westerners have a chance to improve their district standings with a win this evening when they welcome the Caprock Longhorns tonight on “Thursday Night Throwdown”.
Both teams are looking for their second victory this season, and first in district play. The Westerners have dynamic playmakers including JD Morton, who scored three touchdowns last week against Tascosa, and wide receiver Israel Cervantes who made four catches for 62 yards in Friday night’s game.
The Longhorns kicked off the season with a 29-12 win over Pampa but have struggled to find the end zone ever since. Last week, they registered two late scores in their loss to Frenship.
The game kicks off 7 p.m. tonight at PlainsCapital Park, and is airing on KMYL 14.1/22.2, Optimum 6, DIRECTV 14, UVERSE 1014, and SIMULCAST KJ-CD 32.1.
