AUSTIN, TEXAS – Longhorn City Limits presented by Hollister returns on Saturday, October 17, as acclaimed alternative rock band GROUPLOVE headlines a special postgame edition on the LBJ Lawn following Texas Football’s Southeastern Conference matchup against Florida at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The day will begin with special guest The Motts performing before the game, before GROUPLOVE takes the stage following the final whistle.  As always, admission is FREE for all Longhorn City Limits concerts throughout the season.

Known for an unmistakable combination of soaring hooks, infectious energy and a joyfully communal live show, GROUPLOVE has spent more than a decade building one of alternative rock’s most distinctive sounds. The band featuring vocalist Hannah Hooper, vocalist/guitarist Christian Zucconi, bassist Daniel Gleason, guitarist Andrew Wessen, and drummer Ben Homola, first introduced its playful, high-energy spirit with its 2011 debut album, Never Trust a Happy Song, and has continued to evolve across six full-length albums.

GROUPLOVE’s catalog includes fan favorites such as “Tongue Tied,” “Ways to Go,” “Colours” and “Welcome to Your Life,” songs that have helped make the band a fixture of alternative music and festival stages. Their sixth studio album, I Want It All Right Now, marked the band’s first release on Glassnote Records and delivered a raw, vibrant sound that Hooper describes as “resistance pop.” Produced by GRAMMY Award-winner John Congleton, the album features songs including “All,” “Hello” and “Cheese” while capturing the ecstatic energy and sense of connection that have long defined GROUPLOVE’s live performances.

“We’re thrilled to welcome GROUPLOVE to the Forty Acres for a special postgame edition of Longhorn City Limits,” said Chris Del Conte, Vice President and Lois and Richard Folger Athletics Director. “They bring such high energy to every performance, and I can’t think of a better way for Longhorn Nation to keep the gameday celebration going all day long.  Stick around after the game, head back to the LBJ Lawn and let’s finish off another tremendous Saturday on the Forty Acres together!”

Kicking off LCL on October 17 is Austin-based cover band The Motts. Known for bringing high-energy performances and a massive catalog of fan-favorite songs across rock, pop, country, soul, punk and more, The Motts have built a reputation for turning every set into a singalong. Their songbook spans generations and genres, featuring hits from artists including Tom Petty, The Beatles, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen, The Killers, Green Day, Tyler Childers, Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, Harry Styles and many more. With something for just about every music fan, The Motts will get the LBJ Lawn moving bright and early before the Longhorns take on Florida.

The Tito’s Tailgate and Bulleit Frontier Lounge will open at 8 a.m. on October 17, with The Motts taking the stage at 8:30 a.m. Fans can then head into DKR for Texas Football’s matchup against Florida before returning to the LBJ Lawn, where GROUPLOVE will perform immediately following the game.
