For the fans we spoke with, tomorrow’s plans are split; some will be in the stadium, while others will watch from home. But tonight, they all had a chance to get together before the game.
“We all know what’s going to happen, don’t we?” Gov. Abbott said. “Texas Longhorns are going to bring home a victory tomorrow.”

Several UT leaders were also at the tailgate, including UT President Jim Davis, Board of Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife, and Athletic Director Chris Del Conte.
The two governors made a friendly wager, putting signature foods from their states on the line for each other, depending on the game’s outcome.

For many UT fans, tomorrow’s game means cheering on the Longhorns from the stadium.
But tonight’s tailgate is a chance to celebrate early and catch up with other fans.
“We are headed to a tailgate at the governor’s mansion,” Longhorn fan Colette Parsons said. “And we are excited to be celebrating the game.”
“Seeing everybody catching up with all the rest of the folks that get to go to all the games and sharing a little bit of the hopes and aspirations for tomorrow,” Longhorn fan Kendall Parsons said.

But while many are attending the game in person tomorrow, several Longhorns plan to watch the game from home.
“We’re just going to have a few friends over,” Longhorn fan Penn Bloxsom said. “And not deal with any traffic and watch the game.”
