WOODROW, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates earned their first victory of the season Friday night with a 48-6 drubbing over Coronado.
Pirate RB Antarius Johnson accounted for the first LCP score. Moments later, Jaiden Ramirez connected with Daniel Castro to give Lubbock-Cooper a 14-0 lead.
The Mustangs had their only score when RB Isaiah Doss took a direct snap in for the Coronado touchdown. From there, the Pirates ended the game with 34 unanswered points.
Lubbock-Cooper will have a short time to celebrate since their next matchup is on the road versus Abilene Wylie next Friday. Coronado will host Wichita Falls Legacy next week on “Thursday Night Throwdown,” airing on KMYL.
