E.W. Scripps taps her to oversee the Texas duopoly as GM and director of sales.
E.W. Scripps today promoted local media sales leader Kristen Darden to the role of general manager and director of sales for its Corpus Christi, Texas, duopoly of KRIS (NBC) and KAJA (Telemundo) effective immediately.
Darden is a Corpus Christi native who has spent 13 years at the stations in various leadership positions. For the last decade, she has been local sales manager, leading the sales team responsible for revenue across broadcast, digital and social platforms. Prior to that role, she served as the internet director.
“Kristen brings deep connections to the Corpus Christi community along with proven strengths in strategic planning, digital transformation and budget management,” said Anita Helt, Scripps regional vice president. “Her ability to foster strong collaboration and her genuine understanding and love of this beautiful community position her perfectly to lead our teams, delivering meaningful results for both our viewers and our advertising partners.”
Darden is active in the community, currently serving as the president of the Texas Gulf Surfing Association. She received her Bachelor of Arts in communication from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
