Trump endorses Abbott for reelection as Texas governor

AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Tuesday, President Donald Trump endorsed Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s bid for reelection.

In a post on his platform, Truth Social, Trump said Abbott was “fighting tirelessly to Champion Texas Values” and “Grow the Economy,” among other things.

“Greg Abbott has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election. He is an exceptional Governor and man — HE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!” Trump said in the post.

Abbott announced his reelection campaign for a fourth term during a rally in Houston on Sunday.

If reelected, Abbott could become the longest-serving governor in Texas history.
