LUBBOCK, Texas — Jordan Moreno, 22, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals and charged with Indecency with a Child and Online Solicitation of a Minor.
Court documents revealed that on September 24, 2026, the Lubbock Police Department received a third-party report regarding an inappropriate relationship between an adult coach and a child victim.
Records indicate that the report was made by a friend of the victim who had been made aware of the situation and had seen concerning things on the victim’s phone.
The affidavit obtained by EverythingLubbock revealed the timeline of the events that occurred.
In July 2026, Moreno had received the juvenile victims number where the two began calling and texting and eventually video calling regularly, often multiple times a day for lengthy periods of time. Court documents stated that conversations escalated from basketball to personal conversations.
During the personal conversations, Moreno expressed his feelings to the victim, and said that they had to be careful because he could get in trouble and advised the victim to change his contact information and delete their previous conversations.
According to the affidavit, on at least one occasion, during a private lesson, Moreno kissed the victim in a gym’s supply closet and on two occasions while Facetiming the victim, Moreno exposed himself the victim. Their conversations were also reported to become sexual in nature.
On or around July 22, 2026, Moreno and the victim met at Bill and Ann Miller Park in Lubbock. While there, Moreno placed the victim’s hand on his genitals.
Moreno was later interviewed and denied being more than a “mentor” to the victim and denied meeting the victim at the park, however a photograph showed the two clearly sitting on a park bench with the victim’s legs between his and his hand on the victim’s thigh.
Moreno did end the relationship in early August of 2026, but told the victim that he would wait for her to reach legal age.
An arrest warrant was generated on October 15, 2026, and Moreno was placed under arrest on the same day.
Moreno was in the Lubbock County Detention Center on an $150,000 bond, and has since bonded out.
