In private Facebook groups serving the New Braunfels and Canyon Lake areas, some residents questioned whether the seasonal attraction was worth the expense. One commenter said a visit for three people cost about $75 after taxes and described the experience as disappointing, citing a lengthy wait for mini golf.

Others complained about crowded conditions and restroom facilities, while some visitors defended the attraction. One commenter said there was more to do this year than in previous years and recommended arriving before noon to avoid longer lines.

The discussion comes as weekend admission is listed at $22.88 per person, including fees, on the festival’s ticketing website. MySA reported a $15 admission price last year.

The festival lists weekday admission at $15.60 per person, including fees, Monday through Thursday. Weekend admission from Friday through Sunday costs $22.88, with taxes added at checkout.

The attraction runs through November 1 in Gruene, a historic district of New Braunfels that draws visitors from across the San Antonio area and Texas Hill Country.

Admission includes access to several fall-themed attractions, according to the festival’s promotional materials. Visitors can explore pumpkin houses, play mini golf, ride a train, dig through the giant corn pit and bounce on the World’s Largest Bouncy Pumpkin.

The festival is open from 3 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
