EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced this week the location of its planned temple in El Paso.
The temple will be built on a 6.4-acre site at the northeast corner of Northern Pass Drive and Paseo del Norte Boulevard, according to the church.
Plans call for a single-story building of about 22,300 square feet.
Once completed and dedicated, it will be the 10th temple in Texas.

The church said the state has about 400,000 members who meet in more than 750 congregations.
Texas’ dedicated temples are in Dallas, Houston, Lubbock, San Antonio and McAllen.
Temples are distinct from the church’s meetinghouses, where members and visitors gather for Sunday worship.
The church describes temples as houses of the Lord where members make religious covenants and participate in ceremonies, including those focused on uniting families for eternity.
