The owners of a mansion in Fort Worth that was built for a co-owner of the Texas Rangers are hoping that a second auction will finally get the property sold.
The mansion sits at 9553 Bella Terra Drive in southwestern Fort Worth, just off I-820 and Mary’s Creek. The Montserrat area mansion was previously up for auction in December 2025, but the deal for the property fell through, according to the Dallas Morning News. The property was most recently listed for $7.5 million, but starting bids are expected to range between just $2 million and $4 million when the auction begins on Nov. 4.
The asking price for the home was initially $11.8 million in November 2025, according to the outlet. The price on Zillow dropped to $6 million a month later as the mansion went on and off the market. Nearly a year ago, the property was sold at auction in December 2025 with a winning bid of just under $7 million. However, the deal fell through for unspecified reasons, according to the outlet.
After the first auction deal went belly-up, the mansion was listed yet again in March 2026. After no nibbles, it looks like the mansion, currently owned by John Lupo and Andreana Michael, is headed for auction yet again. The two-lot property has an appraised value of nearly $3.5 million, according to the outlet.
The mansion was built for Bob Simpson, co-founder of Fort Worth-based TXO Partners and a co-owner of the Texas Rangers, a Major League Baseball franchise. The mansion on the 2-acre property spans upwards of 19,000 square feet and has a 4,800-square-foot guest home. That means the appraised value equates to $147 per square foot.
The property has an indoor pool and hot tub, as well as a private theater, sports court, private pond and a wine room. In total, the mansion has seven bedrooms, 13 full bathrooms and five half bathrooms, according to the outlet.
