Carol Sue Mills, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Oct. 18, 2026, at the age of 86. Carol was born on June 2, 1940, in Pearsall, Texas. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to her family and to the people around her. She worked at Planned Parenthood and also worked alongside her husband, Joe Calvin Mills, at Joe C. Mills Architect. Carol and Joe raised four sons: Joel A. Mills, Jon Eric Mills (Tracy), James Evan Mills, and Joshua Mills. She was deeply devoted to her boys and took great pride in their lives. She was preceded in death by her sons Joel and Joshua, whose memories she carried with her throughout her life. Carol and her family lived in several Texas communities, including Midland, Del Rio, and Springtown. In 2016, she moved to Springtown, where she continued to make her home and remain close to family. Carol was a proud grandmother to Brent Forester, Zoe Mills, Josh Mills (Jayne), Michael Mills (Carly), and Jayna Mills. She was also a loving great-grandmother to her great-granddaughter, Harper Mills. Her family was the center of her life, and she treasured the love and memories they shared. Carol will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, and the many years she devoted to the people she loved. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave and the memories she created will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and generations to come. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. A private graveside service will be held.
