ALLEN, Texas — Power has been restored at the Allen Public Library after an outage temporarily disrupted early voting Wednesday afternoon, election officials said.
Officials said they were notified around 3:30 p.m. that a nearby transformer had reportedly blown, knocking out power to the polling location.
Voting equipment was switched to battery power to allow voters already at the location to cast their ballots. Election officials also worked to redirect other voters to one of 41 other polling locations that still had power.
Oncor restored power to the library at 4:10 p.m., about 40 minutes after the outage was reported.
It was not immediately clear how many voters were affected by the outage.
