Living on the El Paso-Juárez border, I feel like we hear about EVERYTHING. Seriously, news travels fast around here, especially when it involves something weird.
Which is why I’m a little offended that I’m just now hearing about a mysterious, possibly alien-looking creature that’s supposedly been stealing chickens just across the border?!
Excuse me?! How did this not make it into the Borderland group chats?!
And just in time for Halloween, too. As if we needed another creepy creature to add to our collection of local legends!
A Mysterious Creature Reported Near El Paso
According to ufologist Jaime Maussan, and residents in Juárez, they have allegedly spotted a strange creature that sounds like something straight out of a horror movie.
The creature is described as pale, almost completely hairless, with human-like features, long, skinny fingers, and a long tail.
That’s quite the height difference, but apparently, nobody can agree on what this mysterious visitor looks like.

Is This the Borderland’s New Chupacabra Mystery?
Now, this is where the story gets even weirder.
The creature has reportedly been sneaking into chicken coops and making off with chickens. One account even claims a young boy watched it carry away a chicken in its mouth.
Naturally, my mind immediately went to the Chupacabra. I mean, mysterious creature? Missing farm animals? Right here on the border? We’ve heard this one before!
But Maussan has floated an even stranger possibility: What if this creature came from another dimension? Yes. Another dimension.
Before we start imagining portals opening somewhere outside of Juárez, it’s worth mentioning that there’s absolutely no scientific evidence supporting that theory.

What Are Authorities Saying About This Mystery?
As entertaining as this whole thing sounds, there’s one pretty important detail: Nobody has actually confirmed that this mysterious creature exists.
Images allegedly showing the creature have circulated online, but they haven’t been verified.
According to reports, civil protection officials in Juárez haven’t received any formal complaints about an unknown animal attacking livestock. Officials on the Texas side of the border also haven’t reported anything unusual.
For now, this remains another bizarre Borderland mystery with more questions than answers.
Still, I can’t get over the fact that we’ve supposedly got a chicken-stealing, possibly interdimensional creature running around near El Paso, and somehow I’m only hearing about it now.
Somebody seriously dropped the ball on this chisme!
