HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Two men were arrested and charged this week after separate operations in Harris County targeting the online solicitation of minors, according to authorities.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez shared on social media that the agency, along with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office and the Department of Public Safety, conducted the joint operation on Wednesday.
Authorities said that 77-year-old Daniel Boyer allegedly chatted online with someone whom he believed to be a 16-year-old girl and intended to meet for sexual activity.
In another joint operation with Pct. 4 and members of the Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, HCSO said that 49-year-old Matthew Henderson was allegedly chatting with someone he believed to be a 15-year-old girl and also intended to meet up for sexual activity.
Gonzalez said that both Boyer and Henderson were taken into custody and charged with online solicitation of a minor.
“These operations are about more than making arrests,” Gonzalez stated on social media. “They’re about identifying threats, preventing harm, and protecting vulnerable children.”
