GRIMES COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — The Texas Renaissance Festival was evacuated on Saturday morning due to a nearby propane tank leak, according to authorities.

The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office said it received a report about the leak at about 8:15 a.m. Officials said the leak came from an underground propane tank near the festival grounds.

Authorities said that College Station hazmat crews responded to the scene to conduct a burn-off of the propane.

Officials said that there is no danger to the public, adding that the people were evacuated from the festival as a precaution. Authorities said the evacuation lasted a few minutes and that normal operations have resumed.
