SOCORRO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 63-year-old woman is dead after a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Socorro.

According to the City of Socorro, at around 10:22 a.m., officers responded to the 11400 block of North Loop Drive after three vehicles were involved in a crash, killing Ada Laura Rodriguez.

Investigators believe the crash happened after a silver 2017 Kia Soul– stopped, waiting for traffic to clear to make a turn– was rear-ended by a red 2004 Ford Mustang and sent into oncoming traffic, where it crashed into a black 2023 Nissan Rogue.

First responders performed CPR on Rodriguez, who was behind the wheel of the Kia Soul.

The woman was rushed to the hospital, where, unfortunately, she died from her injuries.

The driver of the Nissan Rogue, identified as a 26-year-old woman and her 1-year-old passenger were also taken to the hospital; however, the City said they suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The 21-year-old driver of the Mustang did not report injuries.

North Loop Drive between Barnhart Drive and Sunset Valley Avenue will remain closed until around 8 p.m.

No word on whether the driver of the Mustang will face any charges.
