EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — An El Paso man who was supposed to do mechanical work on a vehicle was arrested Wednesday after investigators said he sold the car without the owner’s knowledge and then stopped communicating.
The El Paso Police Department said Isaah Crashawn Saldana, 31, was arrested and charged with property theft and deceptive business practices. Investigators said Saldana admitted to selling the vehicle without the owner’s consent before cutting off communication with the owner.
Police said the investigation began after the vehicle’s owner reported that the car was taken under the pretense that it would be worked on.
EPPD said the vehicle was recovered in Anthony, Texas, with assistance from the Anthony Police Department.
Anyone who believes they may have had a similar experience is urged to call El Paso police at 915-832-4400 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 915-566-8477 to remain anonymous.
