Attendee Registration Now Available as MOSAIC-Centric Event Heads for November 13–15 in Lakeland
The next major piece of the 2026 Affordable Flying Expo is officially in place, as online ticketing is now open for the November 13–15 event at the SUN ’n FUN Aerospace Expo campus in Lakeland, Florida. And with MOSAIC now fundamentally changing the landscape of personal aviation, this year’s AFE may be arriving at one of the most interesting moments the sport and recreational flying community has seen in decades. The Affordable Flying Expo was created around a fairly straightforward premise: affordable personal aviation deserves an event where it isn’t relegated to a corner of somebody else’s show. Company Delivered 50 GenX Engines For the 787 In Third Quarter
General Electric Co. is working to increase engine deliveries for the 787 Dreamliner as customer Boeing Co. seeks to ramp production of its popular widebody jet, Bloomberg reported. “We’ve got more work to do, as do others who are on the program, to make sure that Boeing’s in a position to click up those build rates,” GE Chief Executive Officer Larry Culp said in an interview Tuesday. GE and Rolls-Royce Holdings Plc. are the two suppliers of engines for the 787, though GE has a far bigger share of the program than its U.K. rival. GE delivered more than 50 GEnX engines for the 787 in the third quarter, which Culp described as a “sequential increase” over the last three months.

At Least 30 Sailors Missing Or Dead In Drone Attacks On Shipping
NATO will send more maritime patrol aircraft, radar systems and drones to the Black Sea, the military alliance said on Tuesday, after a series of deadly drone attacks on shipping in the region apparently linked to Russia’s war in Ukraine, according to reporting by Reuters. The announcement came after NATO’s main decision-making body, the North Atlantic Council, discussed security in the Black Sea at the alliance’s Brussels headquarters. In addition to the aircraft, drones and radar systems, NATO members have sent or will send intelligence agents and teams to conduct forensic analysis of explosives, said U.S. Army Colonel Martin L. O’Donnell, a NATO military spokesperson. NATO has not attributed the recent spate of attacks to any country. Military analysts have said Russia almost certainly carried out the attacks, but Moscow has not acknowledged responsibility for them.

FAA officials have signed the official certification documents for the 737-10, marking the final regulatory hurdle in bringing the largest member of the 737 MAX family to operators. The 737-10 offers the best cost per seat of any single-aisle airplane in the market today. It is designed to give operators more capacity while keeping fleet maintenance costs low through shared MAX parts and operational flexibility. The 737 MAX is the first airplane to be certified with full compliance to the 2020 Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act (ACSAA). NASA’s Perseverance Mars rover has driven farther than any vehicle ever has on the surface of another world. On Oct. 11, the rover’s odometer reached 28.10 miles, surpassing the record of 28.06 miles set by the agency’s Opportunity rover, which explored Mars

T-6 Texan II Controlled Ejection After Warning Of Unsafe Landing Gear
Two pilots assigned to the 12th Flying Training Wing successfully ejected from a T-6A Texan II Thursday during a controlled ejection near Seguin, Texas, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph said. After receiving unsafe landing gear indications, the aircrew consulted with subject-matter experts and ultimately elected to perform a controlled ejection in an uninhabited area. Both pilots were safely recovered, evaluated by local medical personnel, and have been cleared. “We are thankful our pilots followed their training and established procedures during this emergency,” said Col. James Long, 12 FTW commander. “The safety of our aircrew remains paramount. We appreciate the swift response of first responders at the scene and the support of our mission partners and the community.”

An Aero-News Network Industry Briefing Series
The FAA’s MOSAIC initiative represents one of the most significant regulatory shifts in modern sport and general aviation. Its implications will affect aircraft design, certification pathways, pilot access, training models, and the economic future of multiple market segments. Yet despite its importance, the MOSAIC conversation remains fragmented — often driven by speculation, incomplete information, or promotional messaging rather than experience-based analysis. To address this gap, the Aero-News Network is launching a new long-form webcast and editorial initiative. The FAA’s MOSAIC initiative represents one of the most consequential regulatory shifts in modern sport and general aviation. Its impact will be felt across aircraft design, certification pathways, pilot access, training models, and long-term industry sustainability. Yet much of the current dialogue surrounding MOSAIC remains fragmented, speculative, or driven by marketing narratives rather th

An order from the FAA banning parallel takeoffs is having an impact on operations at Centennial Airport, the second-busiest airport in the Denver metro area. At the beginning of October, the agency banned parallel takeoffs due to safety concerns, but without advance notice or input from stakeholders. Now those stakeholders say the move is leading to less air traffic and major training delays. Civil Air Patrol is adding 21 new Cessna aircraft to its nationwide fleet, strengthening an aerial network that supports communities in times of need. Deliveries are expected to be completed in 2027, bringing additional capability to missions ranging from locating missing people to preparing the next generation of aviators. The order also highlights how familiar general aviation aircraft continue to play an important role far beyond recreational flying.&

Agency Is Seeking Industry Feedback To Help Owners, Operators And Infrastructure Developers
The FAA has released updated draft design standards for vertical lift infrastructure supporting operations to safely and efficiently integrate Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) aircraft. The draft standards are an initial proposal for industry feedback and will help airport and heliport owners, operators and infrastructure developers design facilities for vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft. “The next generation of aircraft is here, and we are ensuring we have the infrastructure built to support safe takeoffs and landings for them across the National Airspace System,” said FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford. “These aircraft have tremendous potential to generate new jobs, connect communities, and strengthen American leadership in aviation.”
