Houston-raised singer Lizzo will serve as grand marshal of the 77th annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade in downtown Houston this year.
The Thanksgiving parade, a holiday tradition dating to 1949, typically brings floats and performers to downtown Houston.
In 2025, that lineup included The Suffers lead singer Kam Franklin. This year, several other performers and special guests are expected to take part, according to ABC13.
The free event will also include appearances by Houston native Regan Hutsell, a former Miss Texas who is now Miss America 2027, as well as performances by country singer RaeLynn and Christian recording artist Micah Tyler, ABC13 reported.
More than a dozen floats and 10 giant balloons are expected, including a 50-foot Popeye, a 50-foot Santa Elmo and a 40-foot Cookie Monster.
The parade begins at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. It will feature musical theater and dance performances by G.W. Carver Magnet High School, Dance of Asian America, NAACH Houston, Mixteco Ballet Folklorico, Samba Houston, So Real Dance Studio, Theatre Under The Stars, the Apache Belles, Soaring Phoenix and Designed 2 Dance. Marching bands from Morton Ranch, Waltrip and Elsik high schools will also perform along the route.
Those unable to attend can watch the event on ABC13 or stream it on Disney+.
