HORIZON CITY, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Horizon City police arrested a 23-year-old El Paso County firefighter after he allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl he met on the internet.

Jail records show Andrew Michael Martinez Jr.– employed at the El Paso County Emergency Services District #2– was booked Wednesday at the El Paso County Downtown Jail and charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child and indecent contact with a child.

KFOX14/CBS4 got hold of the police reports, which show the charges stem from three incidents this year.

According to the arrest report, Martinez met the victim through Instagram, where the two started texting each other.

In the report, the victim told investigators that at first he had told her he was 19 but then revealed he was actually 23, adding that she had also reportedly lied about her age, telling Martinez that she was 16 and not 14.

She then told investigators that he sexually assaulted her on three occasions.

On May 30, the victim said Martinez allegedly went to her home because she had told him she was home alone and groped her, adding that she felt scared and had to tell him to stop. Afterwards, she said she texted Martinez telling him that what he had done was “weird.”

Then on June 13, the victim told investigators that they went to the movies to watch the horror film Obsession (2025), alleging that during a graphic scene in the movie Martinez whispered,

We’re doing that tonight.

The victim noted that his words made her feel uncomfortable and that she watched the rest of the movie in silence.

After the movie, the victim described to investigators that Martinez allegedly took her to his home where he sexually assaulted her, adding that Martinez reportedly stopped only after he noticed that she was crying.

The victim stressed that she felt angry and horrible after what had happened.

And then on Sept. 26, the victim said she took an Uber ride to Martinez’s home, where she alleges they had sex, telling investigators that at this point, she felt that it was what he was expecting whenever they would see each other.

Afterwards, the victim said the two went to Bassett Place Mall, where they bumped into a relative of hers, which appears to have led to the victim’s family finding out, as she started getting calls from her mother demanding that she return home.

According to the report, when Martinez drove the victim home, he allegedly told her to lie and tell her family that he was the brother of one of her friends and was just giving her a ride, adding that he believed that his career was now going to be ruined.

When they got home, the family reportedly confronted Martinez, telling him that she was 15 years old.

The next day, on Sept. 27, investigators interviewed Martinez, who reportedly told them that he thought she was 18 and allegedly admitted to exchanging nude photographs with her but denied any sexual intercourse.

In the report, investigators note that cellphone photographs appear to corroborate the timeline of what happened.

As of Thursday afternoon, Martinez remains in jail under a combined bond amount of $100,000.

KFOX14/CBS4 reached out to The El Paso County ESD #2 for comment and received a statement.
