Shakespeare LIVE will present free performances of “Macbeth” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Levitt Pavilion in downtown Arlington, kicking off the Halloween weekend.
Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and chairs to the performance. Food will be available for purchase from various food trucks, but attendees can also bring outside food, beer and wine, according to a press release.
“Macbeth,” also known as “The Scottish Play,” kicks off with the prophecy of three witches telling a Scottish general that he will someday become King of Scotland, resulting in Macbeth murdering the king and taking his place, according to the release.
IJ Gordon and Nicole Delarosa star in the Shakespearean tragedy as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, respectively. The performance is directed by Raphael Parry and his daughter Claire Parry.
The show is rated PG-13 due to dark themes.
