As October becomes November, more UTA sports begin and others continue.

Here’s the athletic schedule for Tuesday to Nov. 2.

Men’s basketball

The men’s team will start its season against the University of North Texas at Dallas at 7 p.m. Monday at College Park Center. The game can be streamed on ESPN+.

This will be the third season in a row the Mavericks have opened their slate against UNT Dallas and the fourth season in a row playing the team. UTA is 3-0 all-time against the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics school, with an average margin of victory of 41 points.

Volleyball

The team continues its conference schedule with two road games this week, starting against Eastern Kentucky University at 5 p.m. Thursday at Baptist Health Arena in Richmond, Kentucky.

The Colonels swept the Mavericks 3-0 in their matchup in Arlington on Oct. 3, are 10-0 in conference play, have won their last 15 games in a row and have already clinched a spot in the conference tournament.

The Mavericks then head to Austin Peay State University for a matchup at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Winfield Dunn Center in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Governors are ranked second-to-last in the conference.

Both games can be streamed on ESPN+.

Cross-country

The cross-country teams will compete in the United Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship on Friday in Richmond, Kentucky.

The women’s 5K is set to start at 8 a.m., while the men’s 8K will take off at 8:45 a.m. Both races will be streamed on ESPN+.

In the Mavericks’ last meet, the Arturo Barrios Invitational, the men finished 22nd and the women 15th. The men were led by junior Toby Eaton in 57th, while women’s sophomore Dorcas Jepkosgei finished 5th in her race.

Men’s tennis

The men’s team is set to compete in the Ralston/Neufeld Coaches Challenge this weekend at the Styslinger/Altec Tennis Complex in Dallas.

The Friday-to-Sunday meet, hosted by Southern Methodist University, comes a week after UTA’s appearance in the Athletic Sun Conference Individual Tournament. Two of the four Mavericks brought to the tournament reached the quarterfinals: sophomore Filip Paroulek and freshman Seifeldeen Abdelkader.
