EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Weekend rains triggered severe flooding in northwest El Paso, forcing evacuations from 16 homes and leaving at least one residence with significant damage.
Video captured by crews Saturday night showed torrential rain sending high water into a cul-de-sac and into homes.
City officials said Monday that of the 16 homes affected, 15 homeowners have returned.
The city said its streets and maintenance crews, along with El Paso Water, worked to clear the cul-de-sac of high water.

We have to do an after action report in order to have a better understanding as to what exactly happened that evening,” said Laura Cruz Acosta, communication director for the city of El Paso. “El Paso water utilities also needs to be part of a conversation because as I understand it, the El Passo water utilities is also evaluating the reservoir component.
