Just outside the Central Library, a distinct culture of entrepreneurship and innovation will be created and nurtured by the Entrepreneurship Club, which will be holding its annual MavMarket, a student-led marketplace open to all students, faculty and Arlington community members.

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, students can attend MavMarket, a unique and diverse marketplace experience where close to 100 student vendors will showcase and sell their products and services.

“We wanted to create a community of people to know that there are more people like them who like to do this,“ Entrepreneurship Club President Ankitha Srinivasa said. “Also for them to find a platform for their passion.”

Vendors at MavMarket will include student creators looking to both advertise their businesses and expand their experience as entrepreneurs. The event provides an introductory opportunity for student vendors to turn their passions into sustainable pursuits.

“We also got a partnership with the UTA Bookstore,” Srinivasa said. “We’re doing some free giveaways for that, as well, during the MavMarket.”

In response to potential weather interruptions, Srinivasa placed emphasis on the preparation and efficiency of vendors, who she encouraged to arrive at MavMarket ready for the unexpected. The event is still on track to take place as intended, without a chance of precipitation during the scheduled time of the event.

Whether to shop at the multitude of vendors, get connected with student-led organizations or promote their business as a vendor themselves, students can find several ways to get involved on campus at MavMarket this Thursday.

“I feel like a lot of students do want to pursue their passion and see if they can even scale it later on,” Srinivasa said. “I think this is a very good chance for them to explore within UTA.”
